Currently, we serve clients from the state of Florida in the U.S., as well as Trinidad & Tobago, Grenada, the Bahamas, and the Turks & Caicos.
Those who live in Trinidad can choose in-person sessions at our Trincity office. Sessions for Floridian and Caribbean clients (except Trinidadian) are conducted completely online via the secure, easy-to-use Google Meet platform. It requires no download and is a one-click process.
Sessions are hosted online for your convenience, avoiding the hassle of traffic, restricted hours, and long-distance travel.
However, it is best for you to be close to your router or in an area with good network coverage for optimal service, and to be in a private location (e.g., a bedroom, office, or car) to ensure you feel secure when using the service. Be sure to read our blog, Online Therapy: Pros and Cons, for more information.
Call us at (305) 204-1833 / 1 (868) 702-9297 or WhatsApp us at 1 (305) 619-5129. You can also email us at info@evolvinu.com. No matter where you reach out, one of our fantastic staff will walk you through the process.
We currently do not take insurance from our clients in Florida. However, this may soon change as we explore our options. Please ask our office to see what is possible. However, we do accept insurance from clients in Trinidad & Tobago.
No, but it is in your best interest. It would be like taking a car out for a test drive.
During these 15 minutes, you will have the opportunity to speak directly with one of our therapists to determine whether you are comfortable moving forward with the process.
Our therapist will introduce you to our therapeutic style and be happy to answer any questions you may have about the therapeutic process. This consultation is NOT a therapy session, so we will not go into depth about your issue. The purpose of this session is to see if EvolvinU is the best fit for your needs.
We refer clients to other practitioners or resources when their issues fall beyond the scope of our practice or when a conflict of interest arises.
Our Lead Psychotherapist and Founder, Davrielle J. Peters, has a dual license in the state of Florida. She supervises all cases seen in the practice. Our other therapists are Counseling Psychologists, and we also have some Counseling Interns who are nearing graduation with their master’s degree.
A session can run between 45 minutes and an hour.
Yes. We understand that unexpected things can happen, and you can cancel or reschedule your appointment without incurring any charges.
However, we do have a Late Cancellation & No-Show Fee Policy. If you cancel your appointment within one hour of your scheduled session, or if you do not contact us and fail to appear for your appointment, you will be charged the full session fee. If notified in time, we could have seen someone else. We will treat you with respect and kindness, and in return, we ask that you respect our time.
No! In fact, seeking help speaks to the fact that you notice something is going wrong and you need assistance, which speaks to your sanity.
Maybe. We won’t try to make you cry on purpose. Imagine that you have been holding it together, but something happens, and the pain inside suddenly grasps you. Usually, this triggers an emotional release.
Speaking to a therapist can sometimes feel like this, and it can result in crying. Still, we can promise you that you will feel lighter by the end of the session. Many of our clients describe the process as “emotionally draining, but freeing.”
