You Give and Give. Here’s the Part Nobody Asks About.

You’re the one people lean on.

The nurse who stays past her shift. The teacher who buys the supplies herself. The mother who feeds everyone before she sits down. The entrepreneur who answers every call.

Giving is who you are, and that’s a beautiful thing.

But somewhere along the way, the giving started to cost you. The well got lower than you let anyone see, and you began to wonder, quietly, who pours back into you.

At EvolvinU, we built this practice for the Giver. The professional, the one still showing up for everyone while running low herself. The caretaker who measures her worth by how much is left over for the people she loves.

We know that giver well. And we’d love for you to meet a team that takes your growth seriously without taking ourselves too seriously.

Learn to Be Selfull

Our founder, DJ, has a word for the thing so many givers lose along the way. Selfull.

It means being able to give of yourself without losing yourself.

That’s the work we do together. You stay generous and warm and devoted to the people you love, while you stop disappearing in the process.

You get to keep the heart that makes you who you are. You just stop running it into the ground.

Break the Cycle You Inherited

Some of what wears you down didn’t start with you. It came down the line, generation to generation, the way patterns travel through families.

We’re trauma-informed, and we pay close attention to those inherited cycles. Naming where a pattern began is how you stop passing it forward.

From there, the metamorphosis starts. Our name says what we believe: people are not fixed in place, they evolve.

We’ve watched clients move from brokenness to strength, and couples move from tension to a shared sense of purpose. The cycle ends with you, and a new story begins.

For clients who want it, we welcome faith into the room, and Christian counseling is available for those who’d like their spiritual life woven into the work. For those who don’t, the work is just as much yours.

Either way, you’ll meet real empathy, steady support, and a sprinkle of humor along the way.

We serve individuals, couples, and families online across Florida, Trinidad and Tobago, and the wider English-speaking Caribbean. Wherever you are, you can sit down with us from home.

The people you’ll be sitting with are below.

Meet the Team

Davrielle J. Peters, LMFT, LMHC, NCC, MS

Hey! You can call me DJ. I am the Founder of EvolvinU, a dual-licensed therapist, Clinical Traumatologist, and Author.

I had the pleasure of being born and raised in the beautiful twin islands of Trinidad and Tobago. Many early challenges, such as growing up with dyslexia and navigating a divorced household, taught me the value of resilience. I found an early desire to understand relational dynamics and to foster healthier ones.

Giving came naturally to me, whether with family or friends, so it didn’t take long for me to learn how this superpower could be misused and even abused quite quickly. It is with this foundation that I found my calling as a therapist.

Now, years later, I am no longer mediating fights in the school yard, but instead playing referee for couples, and I love it! Getting to witness the evolution of someone going from brokenness to strength, and of couples going from tension to intension, is the best gift.

When I am not doing therapy you can probably find me teasing my husband, gardening or writing a new song.

Mc Kenna Bradshaw, MS

Hello, I am a Counselling Psychologist and have been working at EvolvinU for the past two years. I graduated from the University of Southern Caribbean. I love working with clients and I predominantly practice CBT. In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my family and friends.

Interns

One of our ways to give back to the counseling community is to provide supervision for masters level counseling students in Trinidad and Tobago from the University of the Southern Caribbean. These students get the opportunity to train under Mrs. Peters and serve clients from T&T.

Yoel Peters, COO

Hi, I am the Chief Operating Officer here at EvolvinU. I ensure that we are maintaining the operational vision and client-centric culture of our practice. With eight years of cross-industry customer service experience, I understand that exceptional care begins the moment a client connects with us.

By streamlining our operations and championing a supportive, accessible environment, I ensure that our team can seamlessly deliver the life-changing counseling services our community relies on. Outside of the office, I dedicate my time to ministry, spending time with my wife and going out into nature.

Avril Yearwood-Valley, CFO

Hello, I take care of the financial end of EvolvinU. As a self-paid practice, we are always striving to find ways to keep therapy affordable for our clients. For the past 40 years, I was an HR and Development Consultant, and it is a joy to bring that experience to the EvolvinU Team.
